I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in the State of Washington (LW60143636). I received Masters in Social Work from Eastern Washington University in 2004 and returned to the Yakima Valley where I’ve provided services since graduating. My training focus and experience has been with treating young children, adolescents and adults struggling with trauma, anxiety and depression. I also help caregivers with parenting concerns and unwanted child behaviors.
As a Clinical Social Worker, I use Evidenced-Based Practices to provide education and skills related to your symptoms and concerns. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to assist you in understanding your thoughts, feelings, and how they lead to behaviors that you may want to stop or change. I am nationally certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and trained in Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tics (CBITS) to treat Tourette and Tic disorders in youth and adults.
I enjoy supporting caregivers utilizing Parent Management Training to address parenting concerns to improve child behavior. I additionally use play-therapy approaches with younger kids as indicated. Utilizing you and your families' unique strengths will help you gain skills to create the life you desire. Together, we will take an active approach to changing one's thoughts, feelings and behaviors to achieve the goals set forth. Clients can expect to practice newly learned skills both in and out of session. My role is to come alongside and support you in your process of change.
